Situated on the southernmost slope of Tokaj hill, Szarvas is a sunny, steep hillside that overlooks the Great Plain and boasts an exceptional terroir, with a black dacite bedrock covered by loess. The grapes were hand harvested and selected. After gentle pressing the wine was fermented and aged in barrels. The acidity is unexpectedly steely coming from a loamy soil, however coupled with the almost 7 grams of residual sugar it makes for an elegant and balanced wine. The intense nose offers wildflowers, a touch of acacia and pear. The palate is strong on fruit: peach, fresh pear, juicy summer apple. A long finish, with stylish oak and roasted aromas complementing the rich fruit.
